On 11 February 2026, at the invitation of Business Ethics Professor José-Carlos García-Rosell at Oulu University, the project’s principal researchers Dr Raminta Pučėtaitė and dr Anna-Maija Lämsä discussed the results of their literature analysis on petty corruption with researchers from the Oulu University Business School. The seminar was organized in cooperation with the Finnish chapter of the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN-FI).
The results of the analysed empirical studies indicate that in democratic and economically developed countries petty corruption as an ethical issue most often manifests in relationships between present or future healthcare professionals and representatives of pharmaceutical companies or patients.
During the discussion, the participants also explored the possibility of developing a case study based on the empirical data collected in the PULSE project. Such a case could be used as a teaching and learning resource for students studying fields of professional ethics.
At the end of the meeting, the researchers expressed their intention to meet again at the annual conference of the European Business Ethics Network, which will take place in 2026 in Rennes, France.
